Jake is a shareholder of the firm and practices in ATR’s Real Estate, Commercial and Business, and Construction groups. He works with business clients of all kinds, from sole proprietors to closely-held limited liability companies and corporations from entity formation, to acquisitions and sales, operational and transactional financing, and commercial leasing and general contract work.  Jake’s real estate practice involves representing clients in all aspects of commercial real estate matters such as acquisitions and sales, institutional and private financing transactions, real estate development, construction, and commercial and residential leasing. Leveraging his experience with business and real estate transactional matters, Jake also has a focused construction practice working with contractors and construction managers, owners, and subcontractors on various litigation matters and resolution of mechanic’s lien and other construction disputes, as well as negotiating and drafting construction agreements of all kinds for owners, developers, and construction industry professionals.

Jake has facilitated numerous real estate transactions and assisted clients with the sales of businesses to other local small business and to large national corporations alike. He represents a varied array of business clientele such as real estate investors and developers, banking and other financial institutions and lenders, contractors and subcontractors from sole-proprietor to national and regional general contractors and construction managers, and an extensive list of hospitality industry businesses from restaurants to lodging to campground operations, fitness and health businesses, real estate brokerage companies, condominium and homeowners associations, and landlords.

Jake received his law degree from the University of Maine School of Law, and his undergraduate degree from Bucknell University.  A Yarmouth, Maine native, he lives in Portland with his wife and spends his free time golfing, skiing, and enjoying the Maine summers on and around Casco Bay and the New Hampshire Lakes Region with friends and family.
